Sports hosted Daventry Town FC in the final game of 2024. With the visitors sitting in the play off spots, and Sports needing a win to move up the table there was plenty to play for.

Sports started well with Daventry unable to cope with Sports shape and the danged posed by Watts and Ethan Champkins. Similarly the front three of Daventry offered very little initially.

Sports took the lead after an excellent opening spell. As the counter attacked the ball fell to Watts who curled the ball past the keeper.

It was quickly 2-0 when three Daventry players went for a kick from Treml. The miss timed head put Sports through and Swann, Howards and Rose combined for Watts to make it 2-0.

Daventry were lucky to still have 10 players on the pitch when both the 9 and 7 were given yellow cards for two bad tackles

In the second half a Watts free kick found Beanie to volley home and make it 3-0.

The hosts pulled one back much to Sports annoyance when they got caught on the ball in the middle of the park and Number 10 finished well.

Daventry were reduced to 10 when the captain when through high and late on Ollie Rose.

A comfortable win for Sports and a great way to end 2024 in front of a good crowd
