MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS AS LINES AND TRAVERS ALSO TAKE ON NEW ROLES FOR 2017/18 SEASON

Easington Sports are delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Beckett as first team manager for the 2017/18 season.

Darren has played for a number of years in the Hellenic Premier Division for Brackley Town and more recently Ardley United and so has been a very successful player at this level of semi professional football. He was was initially brought in to add some much needed quality to the first team squad this season. However, after taking on further coaching responsibilities during the course of the season and then eventually becoming an assistant to Phil (Lines), the club are really pleased that Darren has decided to step up again to take on the main role. We have no doubt that Darren will prove to be a very successful manager at this level next season and the committee believe this is a terrific appointment as the club looks to progress further in the future.

In other first team announcements, we are also very pleased to promote Lewis Travers to assist Darren during the 2017/18 campaign. Lewis also brings a wealth of experience to the management team having played Southern League football for Woodford United as well as Hellenic football for a whole host of clubs locally. Lewis has been keen to develop his coaching responsibilities and next season will provide an excellent opportunity for him to do this whilst also making decisions alongside the management team.

Finally, Phil Lines has also been appointed the General Manager of the Adult Section and will oversee the running of first and reserve teams to ensure they work effectively together to support each other. Ali Whitrow is all set to remain Physio whilst Pete Woodland will be involved in a scouting capacity and will work with the goalkeepers in the early stages of the season.

Further reserve team announcements to follow in due course.
